Do you guarantee that the company will increase my offer?
While we have an impressive track record with nearly a 100% success rate in the salary negotiations we assist with, it’s important to understand that no one can guarantee a company will increase their offer. Salary negotiation isn’t a magic wand, but rather a process that requires strategy and skill. We provide you with expert salary negotiation coaching and proven strategies created from hundreds of successful negotiations to give you the best possible chance of securing a higher compensation. We’re so confident in our approach that our pricing is performance based – you only pay us if you receive an increase in pay.
What do I get when I work with a salary negotiation coach?
You’ll start with a free 15-minute intro call with Brandon to discuss your situation and answer any questions about our services. After receiving your job offer, you’ll sign our terms & conditions, share your offer details with us, and we’ll conduct our initial review to start crafting the negotiation strategy. Brandon will then provide the suggested next steps and you’ll discuss any questions over the phone before kicking off any communication with the recruiting team.
Throughout the salary negotiation, there are no limits on emails or calls with your coach. Your coach will guide you through the process, drafting all communication with the recruiting team and coaching you on what to say during any calls to ensure you stay confident and avoid missteps.
When should I connect with your team?
We recommend connecting with us as early as possible. Salary negotiations can begin as early as the first recruiter phone screen, so being prepared to handle compensation-related questions from the start will set you up for success later in the process.
What if I only have one offer?
It's a common misconception that you need multiple job offers to successfully negotiate. We've consistently helped clients negotiate better offers even when they have only one. While competing offers can sometimes be useful, we’ll assess your unique situation and propose a range of strategies to build leverage for your negotiation.
Are your rates negotiable?
No. Like any professional service, our rates are fixed. Our focus is on increasing your compensation so please do not expect us to lower ours. Our performance-based pricing is among the lowest we’ve seen for these services, ensuring you only pay if we help you secure a higher compensation in your next job offer.
How and when do I pay?
Before we begin coaching, you’ll electronically sign our terms and conditions via Square. Our fee is due seven days after the negotiation is completed, not when you start your new role. We’re hired to help you navigate the salary negotiation process and we do not control when you begin at your new company. We use Square for invoicing, which offers a variety of payment options.
What is the risk of my offer being rescinded?
If you follow our guidance, there shouldn’t be a risk of having an offer rescinded due to negotiation. Companies expect candidates to negotiate and we have extensive experience negotiating across various industries and company sizes. We’ll evaluate your situation and guide you on the best approach to negotiate without risking your offer.
I've negotiated before and am a good negotiator. Why wouldn’t I just negotiate myself?
We often hear from people who initially decided to negotiate on their own, only to later realize they aren’t being paid competitively and wish they used our strategies. Recruiters are trained in various negotiation tactics and can make it seem like you’ve received the best offer. However, we follow a proven salary negotiation strategy and use a data-driven approach to ensure you’re truly being paid at the top end of the pay band. Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you want to take the chance or work with a professional to secure the best possible package.
Can you help if I try negotiating myself first?
No, we only work with clients who haven’t yet started negotiating their offer. There’s a lot of bad advice out there and we can’t guarantee a successful outcome if you’ve already made a misstep. Our negotiation strategies are proven through hundreds of successful salary negotiations and we work with clients from the beginning to ensure the best results.
Who do we work with?
Our salary negotiation coaching services are designed for mid-level professionals, senior individual contributors, people managers, directors, VPs, and executives. We offer performance-based coaching to these career professionals and executives with at least 1-2 years of work experience who are earning $100,000 or more per year. We do not currently support negotiations for compensation below this level and we don’t work with new graduates, interns, or entry-level roles. For those role types and those with compensation below that amount we recommend learning our negotiation strategies through our salary negotiation courses.
How long does it take?
On average, most salary negotiations take 3-5 days to complete. This timeline can vary depending on the recruiter’s response time and their compensation team’s approval process. Our goal is to navigate the negotiation process efficiently to show your eagerness to move forward while maintaining leverage by avoiding any appearance of desperation. It’s a balancing act and we’ll work through the timing together during the negotiation.
Do you speak on my behalf?
No, you will be the one speaking during any phone calls with the recruiting team. We’ve found that negotiation skills are highly valued by employers so our goal is to teach you how to navigate these calls like a professional. This process not only helps you secure the best offer but also demonstrates to the hiring team that they’ve chosen the right person for the role. We’ll ensure you’re fully prepared before any conversations with the recruiting team so you feel confident and have a solid plan in place.
